PROFILE
I graduated from the University of Odessa in 1998-2003 with a Ph.D. under the supervision of Professor Olena Bachynska on the history of the Cossacks in the Azov region in the 18th century. For more than twenty years I have taught historical disciplines at the University of Odesa, including the history of the national building in the 19th century, museology and general history of Ukraine, and developed my own course on the history of the north-eastern frontier of the Ottoman Empire. At the same time, I was actively involved in the popularization of historical knowledge, collaborating with TV and Youtube projects. I have research interests in the history of nation-building, military history, intellectual history, everyday life, and am currently researching the impact of the Ottoman Cossacks on socio-political processes and cultural development in Southeastern Europe during the Tanzimat period (mid-19th century).
